HM 170

HM 170 OPEN WIND TUNNEL

The HM 170 Open Wind Tunnel by GUNT is a precision-engineered, Eiffel-type wind tunnel designed for advanced aerodynamic and fluid mechanics experiments. It features a transparent, closed measuring section with a 292×292 mm cross-section and a length of 420 mm, allowing for clear observation of airflow around test models. Equipped with a variable-speed axial fan, the tunnel achieves air velocities ranging from 3.1 to 28 m/s, ensuring a uniform and low-turbulence flow through its carefully contoured nozzle and flow straightener. An integrated electronic two-component force sensor provides accurate digital measurements of lift and drag, while an inclined tube manometer displays air velocity. Optional accessories, such as the HM 170.60 data acquisition system, enable comprehensive analysis of velocity, forces, moments, displacement/angle, and differential pressure on a connected PC. This versatile setup supports a wide range of experiments, including pressure distribution studies, boundary layer analysis, and visualization of streamlines using the HM 170.52 fog generator. Ideal for educational and research institutions, the HM 170 offers a robust platform for exploring complex aerodynamic phenomena.
